Browser Errors

Browser slow loading pages — How to fix on Windows

Slow page loading inside a browser, while other devices on the same network are fast, is local: DNS cache, extension overhead, or a stuck preload.

Updated

Symptoms

  • Pages take 5+ seconds to start loading
  • Speedtest shows good bandwidth
  • Other devices on the same network load the same pages fast

Likely causes

  • Stale DNS cache
  • Too many extensions doing per-page work
  • Browser preload service stuck
  • Antivirus 'web shield' inspecting every request

How to fix it — step by step

  1. 01

    Flush DNS in Windows

    ipconfig /flushdns
  2. 02

    Clear browser cache

chrome://settings/clearBrowserData → Cached images and files → Clear.

  3. 03

    Disable suspicious extensions

Particularly: ad blockers with massive filter lists, password managers that scan every form, screen readers.

  4. 04

    Change DNS to 1.1.1.1

Adapter properties → DNS → Cloudflare. Often the biggest single jump in browsing speed.
